SNCISN COACHING AND IMMIGRATION

SNCI / CANADA-WIDE GUIDANCE

Canadian work permit services

Your work permit questions may involve a new opportunity, an approaching expiry date or a change in your family circumstances. We start by understanding your current documents and the basis for the permit you want to request.

Discuss your situation

New permits and permit extensions

We review your current permit, expiry date, employment history and proposed next step. An extension needs its own eligibility review; holding a permit today does not automatically establish the basis for another one. Share upcoming deadlines when requesting your consultation.

Employer-specific and LMIA-related questions

An employer-related work permit discussion can involve the proposed job, employer documents and the applicable immigration process. We help you identify the information that needs review. A job offer or LMIA-related document should not be treated as a guarantee of a work permit or permanent residence.

Open and spouse work permit questions

Open work permits have specific eligibility categories. For spouse or partner questions, we review the principal applicant’s status, employment or studies and the relationship information relevant to the proposed route. Family sponsorship and a spouse work permit are different immigration requests.

Plan around your actual status

A pending application, a refusal or a permit expiry can change the questions that need attention. Tell us what was filed, on which date and what decision was received. Do not assume that submitting any application gives permission to work.

What to prepare for your consultation

  • Your current permit and expiry date
  • Employer and job details, where relevant
  • Previous applications and decision letters
  • The dates of any change in employment or status

Keep sensitive identity documents out of your initial inquiry. Ask the team how to share any documents securely once the consultation is confirmed.

Common questions

Can we discuss a work permit from Ontario, Alberta or BC?

Yes. SNCI takes consultation requests from clients across Canada. The review focuses on your circumstances and the applicable permit route.

Will a work permit automatically lead to PR?

No. A work permit and permanent residence have separate requirements. You can discuss a longer-term PR plan alongside your immediate work permit question.

General information reviewed October 4, 2026. Program requirements, intake and selection priorities can change. The applicable rules and service scope are reviewed for your circumstances. No immigration outcome is guaranteed.
